Do you have any experience with El Caminos? If so.. what? What year is recognized to be the best year for this car? Personally I like anything made after ',69. I'd like to purchase an El Camino soon, but I'm not sure what to look for and how much I should pay on average. it looks like their prices vary from $3000 $12,000 for one in good running condition. Fill me in. Thanks.

I don',t think they ever built a bad ElCo. I guess it depends on what body style you like. 19591960 were the big fin models. 19641967 was the second generation El Camino. 19681972, 3rd gen. 19731977, 4th gen. 19781987 was the last years, the boxy body styles. I like them all but if I had to pick a favorite, I',d have to go with the 6872 body style. Preferably a SS396 or SS454 model. Classic body style, good preemissions motors. If you're wanting to use up twelve great on one, you',ll be able to find one really nice for that kind of money.
