What could because my car to run rough after to get it detailed?
It's an 01 Tacoma. Never had a single problem and took it to get buffed and in depth. Picked it up after the shop closed and it sputtered and check engine light came on. Drove it 25 miles and it did not change. Any ideas?

water in the plugs, wires, caps, etc under the hood. the detail shop did not cover key electrical things before power washing the engine.

best bet is just pop the wires off, using a blow gun dry out the holes, wires, cap, coil, etc. leave the hood open facing into the sun on a nice day. let it idle for awhile.

It will go away after the water gets worked out. I see this daily on dealers lots when cars come back from detail.

i could say they got it wet from most likely cleaning the engine off some in it,it will dry out, but it may take some time, you may want to dry the wires off in it that is what is making it sputter, this happens lots when their detailing newer cars, there's certain things you do not want to get wet on them,it should dry back out by its self, but its faster to just go ahead and remove the cap,and dry it out, good luck on it.

Vacuum line popped off from the engine, or spark plug wire came loose from the one of the spark plugs.

With the engine cool, softly tug on each spark plug wire to see if one came off. If it did, push it back on till you feel a "click"

Water around the spark plugs. Remove the plug wires and coils. The blow out the tubes with air. Should be OK then.
Hope this helps.

if they in depth the engine it'll clear up mine smoked and spitting and sputtering it sounds like if they did your engine and you have to change your plug wires they are most likely alittle old this is normal also it is because they spray cleaner on the engine then hose it off with water usually it'll clear up tomarrow I could think
you may have water in your plug boots if so use crc electric connection cleaner inside the boots it'll clear it up .
hope this helped
