What could because the drive plate on a 92 honda accord lx keep breaking? 2.2 auto?
New torque convertor, tune up. keeps breaking the drive plate about every 400 1200 miles.

The drive plate is a kind of coupler between the engine and transmission. it's usually called a flex plate. It can take some amount of flex but it must be minimal. Vibration or misalignment will because it to break. Check the surfaces of the engine and transmission for burrs or foreign material. If there are alignment pins, be sure they're clean and free of corrosion. you may be able to put some grease or antisieze compound on them to prevent this and help them seat better.
A bad harmonic balancer at the front of the engine can because temporary vibrations that will influence it.
Improper installation can also because failure.
There may be a problem with the starter too. Is it the correct one for the car and is it shimmed properly.
Just some things that came to mind.

Has the driveplate been ligned up properly and is joint locking compound used on the bolts securing it,if not it may loosen and come somewhat adrift.
