If it is been maintained, has comparatively low mileage and not rusted, it may be a great car. The 350 engine is hard mileage is not great twelve 18 MPG.
I think the Caprice was pretty standard and you added alternatives. Parts are cheaper.
Don't pay lots for it lots of them are old cop cars.

Kind of bad on gas in town.
They are just as dependable as any other old car on the road.
Who cares about trim level when the car is eleven plus years old.
any of the engines are good. Parts are on the cheap side.
What country are you in anyway?

i can tell you now its not a gas saver, and its a really big car,it is a safe car although and has a real good ride to it,on trim packages there is not that much difference in them at all,and the engines in them will either be a 305 or a 350, and either one is not really a gas saver, but its a big old safe car and parts are cheap for them because they're American made, and there's lots of those around, there a good car,for safety but not going to save any on gas, good luck hope this helps.

Any of the Caprices around those yrs. are good BIG vehicles. The 91 93 models had the 305ci/700r4, then the 94 96 got the LT1/4L60E the Vette engine/tranny combo just like the Impala SS'ss, which could be my favorite. In the 96 model yr. which was the only yr they GM put the shifter in the floor, from the factory.
My ex black 96 Impala SS the last yr they were made as a RWD V8 got like 30mpg on the hi way, not bad for a two ton car. Thro, I have thought about trying to pick up a 9C1 the police variant of the Caprice. Which got the beefier suspension kind of like the Impala SS'ss.
Good luck.

I had a 91 Caprice and it was a great car.I bought it with 99000 miles on it and drove it till it had 178000 miles on it.It started to really wear out at that mileage. They corner well and have a decent acceleration.Mine had the 305 engine and got 21 miles per gallon.

make sure it is a 5.7L not a 4.3 V8 if you want to go 138MPH or more. the small 4.3'S got about three more MPG at the cost of lots of top speed caused by less HP.

good hard dependable car..good power..not real good on gas...go for a 305 to a 350..replacement part,s are common & priced reasonably...take care of it & it'll take care of you.
