What does it means when hte TRAC light comes on in my 1994 Lexus LS400?

The TRAC light comes on and stays on til I cut the car off, or after I drove it for 20 to 30min, and some days it doesnt come on at all.

Means a tire lost traction and the computer took over and corrected it for you. It gave you the light just to let you know it did something. If I recall right there are about 13 computers monitoring your ride, height, traction, etc. Just smile when you see the light and keep on going knowing you have the traction power of a 4x4.

Trac light is the traction control feature. "This system will sense a wheel that's starting to turn and apply the brake on that wheel thus transferring power to the wheel with the most traction. If applying the brake is inadequate to stop the turn, the computer will decrease power to the engine till the skid is under control. This procedure takes place so quickly and seamlessly, in many cases the only way that you know that you nearly lost traction is by the flashing Trac light that tells you that the system momentarily took over. "

If the TRAC light is coming on and staying on you're more than probably having some kind of problem with your system. it may vary from a simple wire connection to a problem with the braking system. I recommend biting the bullet and going to see a mechanic.

Does the check engine light also come on? If so may be a gas cap. Also is most probably a wheel speed or something in the braking system
