should play only wav, it prolly takes too long b/c it can not read mp3 sooner or later it'll see no disc or disc error.

i guess the OEM head of the CD player doesnot accept the burnt CDs and could sometime give CDPEO code i.e cd player error code. I have learnt that it works if you clean your head but it could only be temporarily, you must keep it doing every month or so. I have a 96 TL and it doesnot accept the burnt CDs so hopefully can be the same case. So I use a cassette converter for iPod which is the cheapest way to play digital music.
or you may be able to check at tl.acurazine.com/forums

It will not play any kind of file except a regular audio CD format. You can not burn MP3s or WAV or anything else. It must be transformed to a regular audio format. In other words, a data CD isn't going to work, in a 2007 Acura TL. Now why they make a car like that with a tape player, but without the capability to play MP3s is quite beyond me. But that is life I guess.
