i recently totaled my last car, a 1999 ford escort se sport. I had a nice custom sound system in my escort, which I pulled out after the wreck. i',m purchasing a 1996 ford probe gt.. its a sweet ride. 24v 2.5 litre v6.. custom six speed racing transmission. but anyways. I'd like to put my system in.. I have a kenwood head unit and I was ust wondering if anybody knows if the stereo wiring harness is the same in an escort as it's in a probe.. I know that the probe was really intended and built by mazda, so idk if the electrical is american or japanese.

The wiring harness isn't the same. The one you need is Metra Part #701770. The install kit isn',t the same either. Metra Part #995510. Total cost between the two on ebay is $21.
