Which Honda engine is the best?

I bought a 1993 Honda Del Sol
originally equiped with a 1.6

Someone Installed a Crate B15 engine

Which engine has the most performance and HP ranking.

NOW before you all continue in telling me about all other engines,please read this question.
The exchange had been done.
And you may be able to get a Crate engine shipped,some warehouses have these kicking around that they bought extras of right out of Japan without emissions.

I have never found any code for a B15 engine

I was told it was a B15 engine But I do not believe they made one..

They did make a D15 although.

there is no such thing as a B15. Look on the front of your engine block, where the block meets the transmission. there's a flat plate with the engine code stamped on it in big letters.

And saying that it is a "Crate" engine is a little confusing to some people. it is not a built engine, just a used engine that's physically shipped on a crate/wood pallet. There are literally hundreds of businesses that sell these engines, that have been shipped over from Japan or another country . But, these shouldn't be perplexed with Crate engines that are rebuilt for performance.

From your "Additional Details" post, I am presuming that you are asking which of the two engines your stock one and the one in there now has the most performance and HP ranking. you may want to worded that a little better. But it depends on which engine is in there now. Is it the D15B vtec engine, or is it a non vtec engine? If it's the D15B vtec engine, then it has 128hp, three more than the D16Z6 that was in there earlier. Honda rates it at 130PS, so when that is transformed into our HP ranking, it is around 127 128hp majority of people just say 130hp although .

there is no such thing as which is the best because swapping which engine into which chassis is an important factor to think about too. example: a EG hatch with k20 Vs DC5 and the faster one should be the EG because of its lighter chasis. so the chassis used must be compared and in your case I suppose the Del Sol. Do think about a B18CR DC2 which could be cheaper than the k20 and it may be more changed to improve the performance. Seen a B18CR with turbo on youtube which outputs 600+HP. but previous to the turbo charging, interior strengthening must be done.

^ yea what he said.. the b18CR could be a good choice definately. I have seen H22A2 turbo dropped into delsol's. but the power output was in the 450hp range. just another choice..

Wait, Crate motor? B15? Um I never knew there where crate motors on engines that didn't exist. Unless its a Spoon or Jun built motor and its built from them then ya.

What is your goal? 1/4 monster track monster? I say H22 boosted be best for 1/4, or K20/24, B18C Type R motor with cams could also be a great track car, check honda tech.com
