Is the wrx sti overpriced for the package? could to get a 09 wrx be just as useful and smart? Is there a serious advantage over the WRX. I read and understand the packages for both vehicles. But most are saying bang for buck, the best deal is the 09 WRX. The STI could simply be a car for those who only race. If your not racing then its a waste of money. How true is that statement?

All comes down to what you want to do. If your an avid track day fan who makes it out frequently, the STI is a great car. With all the upgraded performance parts on it Brakes/suspension it becomes costly to preserve and on the road the ride may be brutal some people compare it to crashing over bumps / road seams . If your like majority of people, and can only make it to a track day once or twice a year, the WRX is lots easier to live with. The suspension is more compliant and for the difference in cost, the brakes may be easily upgraded to do track responsibility those couple times a year.

well the sti comes with better suspension, brembo brakes, a six speed tranny built by porshe and is almost indestructible. higher flowing heads, better interior, hid lights, 95 watt alternator vs a 75 watt, bigger turbo, driver controlled center differential dccd . so yeah worth th extra cash. could cost so more to do it to a wrx then it could be to get the sti.

Wrx is better bang for your buck, 265hp vs 305hp, good suspension decent interioir, lightweight and fast. But if you were to purchase the sti purchase a lancer evo, primarily because it have more hp and better TCS so you wont understeer as much.
