For the price, it is the Impreza WRX STi. it is the closest thing you'll have to a race car without going broke, you may be able to make a $700 car payment every month. This is a true rocket, but not a practical car. The 2004 Impreza goes zero to 60 in 4.88 secs. But the 1994 McLaren F1 goes zero to 60 in 2.63 secs and has a max speed of 227 mph. If you want real speed, get a motorcycle. BTW, FORD COBRA IS CRAP. My grandma's minivan can go zero to 60 in less than 8.4 secs.

I believe the fastest car for sale to the public is the Ferrari Testorisa. It has a top speed of 210 mph. it is yours for about $250,000. If you are talking about racing. Then it could be the 7000 hp top fuel dragsters. From a standing start, they cover the 1/4 mile in just over four seconds at a speed of 330 mph.

i think it's the bugatti. I do not exactly know what speed it can reach, but it has 1000+ horse power

Right now I think it's the Koenigsegg. I think it now holds the fastest production car title. If VW ever gets the Bugatti project off the ground it can break 250mph, but that car is running into many production problems.
