Which Volvo car am I supposed to get? |
|
I am 17 years old and I'm planning to lease a Volvo car. though, I do not really know which one I should lease. Could you tell me which is best for me?
I do not like station wagons, and I could like something that is easy for a teenager to drive. Preferably five seats or more, too. Four is okay, although. But I could really favor more than that.
On another note, do not tell me just because I am 17 that I do not deserve such a good car. I am only to get Volvo because it is made out of good materials and is safer than most cars. Money is no object, my dad will assist me pay for half of the monthly deposits. do not tell me I am a spoiled brat and I do not deserve all of this. that is not what I am asking to hear. All I'd like to know is what car to drive. Just making that clear.
Thank you for your answers.

Volvo is just a Ford quality car with a Swedish name. If you want a good safe, quality car that's dependable and reliable get a SUBARU Legacy. They look and drive nice too.

If you live in California or some northeastern states, you may want to get the Volvo S40 PZEV. It gets SUPER clean emissions.similar to running lawn mower for one hour as driving this car 2,000 miles.
S40 is a nice, nice, sporty and safe car that handles well in all weather.
Don't speed. 8D

If I were you, I'd be looking at the C70 hardtop convertible. it is a sporty looking car, can seat five a little crowded, but it can work.
The other choice could be the S60 which is a bit bigger and handles very well. It is not too big, but large enough for what you seem to be looking for.

Well, a Volvo is a good choice, despite of one's age.
Being 17 you'll soon be heading off to college, and it is generally a good thing to have a hatchback to move all your stuff back and forth.
Now, I know that hatchbacks are not considered "hot", but look at the link below. it's an interactive site that lets you to "build" you own C30: color, seating, trim levels, etc.
The C30 was built for the entry youth market. it's cheap for a Volvo and is quite fast, sporty, working and safe. It may be equipped with bike racks and other customized features.
Personally, I favor older rear wheel drive cars, but I am an old man and driving fast is not fun anymore.
Please look at the link and poke around, you may find it to be fun.
Good luck with your 1st new car. but, truely, I'd recomend a old used car. Something you will not have to worry about because you're going to have lots on your plate with classes and whatnot. At school you will have to worry about parking and insurance and all kinds of things. A hard Volvo 240 with 100,000 miles on it'll cost you a great to insure, whereas a new C30 is going to set you back three to 4000 a year. that is lots of money to use up when you think about that majority of the time, you will be walking to class.

get a s40 or an s60 if you want a more room but there are lots of better looking cars than volvo on the market that are "safe" there's no such thing as a safe car other than the one that stays in the garage depending what you hit or what hit you you may be able to still die in any car like honda and toyota they have way better style than volvo besides it sucks when you need parts on occasion because they have to be shipped from sweden

Volvos aren't just nice Fords. I have heard that lots, and I have to disagree. Just because Ford owns Volvo doesn't mean that Volvo cars are just as crappy. Volvo safety ratings are much higher than that of Fords', and the extra money you put into a Volvo is worth every penney. Fords are not worth crap after some years which you can not say for a Volvo, because they hold their value on the market.
So anyhow, the S40 is nice. I own one. it's a bit small, so the S60 is nice also. Just test drive one, you'll fall in love. Trust me.

First, let me warn you that leasing isn't a wise choice for everyone because this choice may be the most costly technique of auto ownership, particularly if you drive lots of miles in a short amount of time. This is because dealers frequently charge "hidden fees" like damage penalty fees and high mileage fees, plus you make a monthly payment towards a car that you do not really own, and you can not sell it or make high end mods to it throughout the length of the lease. but, you do have the choice, after the lease period ends, to purchase the car at a used price or to return it to the dealer.
If this car is to be "lightly used" per se, let us move on to what I could recommend.
I could also like to point out that I also own a Volvo, a 1993 940 Turbo. It has 186,000 miles and it was about seven months since it had a big problem.
For you, my top pick could be the Volvo S40. though it's Volvo's smallest sedan in the lineup, it has four doors and seats five in a pinch. The engine is a 2.4 L five cylinder found on the 2.4i with about 168hp, or if you want something with a bit more pep, there's the turbocharged five cylinder on the T5 and T5 AWD models that gives the S40 227hp. Transmission choices include a five speed Geartronic transmission found on all variants or a five speed manual found only on the 2.4i . Fuel economy is modestly good for a sedan of this size, to get about 20 mpg city/28 mpg highway on the 2.4i, 19/27 for the T5 and 18/26 for the T5 AWD.
If the S40 is too small of a car for you, attempt looking at the Volvo S60. This is one of Volvo's most liked sedans, so I decided to throw it out there just to see what you think. Just like the S40, the S60 is a four door sedan that can seat five a bit more comfortably than the S40. The S60 is powered by a 2.5 L light pressure turbo or the T5. As with the S40, this too does have an AWD choice, but only with the 2.5 L engine not the T5 . The 2.5 liters crank about 208hp and the T5 gives about 257hp. Unfortunately, the 300hp S60 R was discontinued. With the S60, you do get a choice on either the five speed Geartronic which I forgot to talk about is a manual transmission that may also shift like an auto or a five speed auto. Fuel economy estimates for the Volvo S60 are 19/27 for the 2.5T Geartronic, 17/21 for the 2.5T auto, 18/26 for the 2.5T AWD Geartronic, 17/21 for the 2.5T AWD auto, and 18/26 for the T5.
These vehicles are both sensible choices for a young driver like yourself. I know you are not interested in a station wagon, but what about a hatchback? The Volvo C30 has just been released, and it's alike to the S40 that I mentioned, the only difference being the C30 is a two door, four seater hatchback. The most striking feature of this car is the design, in which Volvo revived the glass tailgate tradition that was made liked by the Volvo 1800 ES. as well, the C30 is the least costly Volvo of the lineup today, starting at about $22,000.
Hopefully the info that I have given you'll give you a clear insight on what to shop for. All three vehicles are good choices and are the most sensible Volvos for a young driver like yourself.
Be cautious, but, when shopping for a car. When looking for the sensible car, generally think about your needs over your wants. As I said, the lowest priced Volvo, the C30, can start at a sensible $22,000, but the price bracket for a Volvo These days can shoot upwards of $60,000. so, practice sensible, reasonable judgments before you sign on the dotted line.
There are other websites you may be able to check out if you want to have more info on which Volvo is right for you. you may be able to generally attempt Volvo's web site, volvocars.us, or you may want to attempt edmunds.com, kbb.com, or motortrend.com. Also visit your local Volvo dealer for the current lease rates on a Volvo, and to shop around yourself.
I hope that the info I'm passing on to you'll assist you make the right choice. If you have more Volvo questions, do not hesitate to ask me again. I'd like to answer any question you may have.
