Why do American's?

Postby zhang » Sat Oct 06, 2007 2:20 am

Pronounce Hyundai as 'hun day', are they unable of seeing that there's a 'y' in there, hence it's pronounced "He un day"??? It really frustrates me for some odd reason.lol

Also, for the Australian's who pronounce it "Hi un die" cut it out.

Why do American's?

I pronounce it hyundai .
I just bought a Sante Fe, my second Hyundai. What a great bargain..
Has Monsoon stereo, am/fm/cd/casette, fog lamps, tons of cargo room, roof rack, alloy wheels, 6cylinder, four speed automatic/manual shift, and cost lots less than any American part of junk out there, I did the research for some number of weeks and found the Sante Fe to be the best deal in my price range. Tinted windows, cargo net, 1st aid kit, 12volt outlets it is got it all . Plus the dealer gave me a just trade for my Elantra and they gave me four great rebate. Let me see chevy or ford do that. They will not .Loosers... Americans are falling for the Apple pie Chevrolet schtick, and the built ford tough gag. LOOSERS ...
Ha HA Ha ....

Oh. sorry but that just is not possible Americans like to refine every word, if we say it's pronounced that way, then that's how it should really be pronounced. Because we're generally right

Actually I think we prounounce it

Hun Die

You know it could help a lot of all of you out there spoke only English like the rest of the world does, then we'd get it right.

As for those Australians, they can not speak English right, just like their British Cousins.

The way we purchase those things up, I do not think the home office cares much what we call it so long as we spell the name right on the payment check.

As Shakespear once observered

Rose by any other name..

Hi. I'm an American girl. I'll make you a deal, ok? Honest. Just like you, I get so bugged when my English cousin says "seedual" for schedule. In English our rather unusual tongue we do not say "seeual" for school. We say "skool". So it's "skedule" not seedual. do not think me impolite to answer in this way. I think it's interesting how we hear one another. And, I bet you're kute. :

It is a peculiar thing to be so irritated about.I would not lose any sleep over it if I were you. I do not know why they say it like that to be honest, but someone started it someplace because everyone pronounces it just like that. Who knows, you realize it is possible that they got this from the company themselves? Who knows.
