Why do my 1988 dodge pick up lose power when I press the gas pedal when I'm driving ?
When I stop at a traffic light or stop sign, then press the gas it seem to choke that is when I have to like pump the gas pedal to keep it going.

Have you checked or replaced the fuel and air filters recently. Has it had a tune up recently. If it's flue injected the injectors can be clogging up also.

try to check the throtle sensor. my truck did the same thing . that is what was wrong with my truck.
