Why do people react to questions to which they clearly don't know the answer?
i am a professional auto mechanic and I get tired of people talking about things they don't know.

They will do anything to get points. it is stupid because the points are not worth anything. Why annoys me the most are people who answer, "I do not know." If you do not know, stay away.

They want to points. They do not care if the answer is irrelevant.

In my humble opinoin, I think some people have nothing better to do, and I think others do it just to "gain points", and still others most likely do it just because they're mean and vindictive and purposely give wrong answers to be hurtful.

There are some reason for this:

1 They really think they know the answer.
2 They just want points.
3 they're really bored, and just want to mess with someone.

I think they are most likely the three best alternatives.

Simple they're "gaming for points" and should be stated, when there points get taken away maybe they'll get the message and honest people can enjoy the site with out there annoying interferance.

Well, lots of them THINK they know the answer. Some of them are guessing. Some are just killing time.

Sometimes, professional mechanics give the wrong answer, so be cautious....

I do not know. I wish conversations may be qualified too before they got past the 1st two minutes. I'm a buyer service manager and professional mother. Why do people tell me how to make their problems on an order go away. that's my job, and if I want your ideas on how my company will resolve the issue. I'll ask. Or how I should be teaching my daughter something?

Get your life and profession, talk to people who share knowledge in what you knowledge in.

Points is all.
I don't understand the points thingy in here. Do you win a cookie or something if you answer the question well enough.
I have seen people answer questions with total disregard for truth. I could rather answer I do not know then spew out some trash that will possibly harm someone
