Why does driving in heavy traffic seem to upset most people???
What can we do to help ourselves relax while the traffic is heavy???

Why, because they lack confidence.
How to relax, just confidently drive your car in a safe way and do not get upset when some idiot cuts you off or something. Watch the traffic remembering that any other driver is able of making a mistake at any time, but when they do so just remain confident that you're driving properly.

Because people are trying to get to a destination quickly. Face it, who loves to be all cooped up in a car going nowhere that is trusterating. Blame the public transportation system.

its more stressful, speed limitations are higher, more traffic,bigger vehicles on road

ppl want to get to places punctually.
some ppl forgot to leave earlier to reimburse for traffic
accidents annoy ppl who forget how lucky that they are not the ones involved
some ppl may be driving better
others could do much better job keeping rate if they were not distracted like on their cell phones or eating
.. the list goes on and on.

You get upset because it becomes a daily nightmare. it's a waste of time and gas just sitting and not moving far for long periods of time. And on occasion when the traffic starts moving you see that it's just people being slow or distracted from the road.

When you're mature like me AKA elderly you figured out that being impatient only causes stress and accidents.

The solution is to manage your time more effectively allowing enough time for your travels. Result? no stress and less likelihood of accidents.
