My dad goed to purchase a used 1996 LS 400 with 132,000 miles on it. He got an insurance quote and it is $600 more every six months than he's already paying. Neither him or my mom have been in any accidents so there is no reason for it to be such a high price. Why is it so much?

HOLY COW. that is a lot. Well, there is some number of things that can make it go up so high. for example, is your dad insuring other drivers besides your mom? The younger the insured person is, the higher the payment is. By the way, the LS 400 kicks @$$. I love that car. it is a classic in my book.

Well the car is a luxury car with a lot of miles. Such cars tend to have a lot of problems as they enter old age. Nothing serious but many conviences like the radio will start to fall separately. ie dash lights going out
