It really isn',t. In the old days it was because you had to make the car',s body out of metal, pay for all the chrome, and all other trimmings. as an example my 1960 Bel Air/ 1964 Coupe Deville could cost some number of more times the amount to make than a modern car could. It',s really very cheap to make a car These days because they're all of such poor quality. The cheap materials plastic and shoddy production standards of modern cars are nearly pitiful. New cars are just hollowed out legos.
PS: Modern cars aren',t intended for looks, what a joke. My cars were intended for looks, modern cars are just boxes.
