Will a '02 wrx manual tranny fit and work properly with an RS engine?
I have an impreza RS that I could like to exchange out the auto tranny. will this exchange work?

RS trans uses a push type clutch where as a WRX has a pull out release for the pressure plate. The trans itself will screw up. Just have to use WRX clutch parts with WRX trans and RS cluch with RS trans. Good luck.

I think you'll have to take the clutch and maybe the clutch master and slave cylinders also.

but also remember your rear diff. needs replacing also,
you could not want your front last drive gear percentage not agreeing your rear last drive gear percentage.

its really bad when that happens,
so either take the WRX transmission and rear end.
or take the WRX transmission separately and switch your front ring gear for the one in your car now.

I really need a 02 WRX transmission, as my first gear is broke.
now I know why there are none in the junk yards, others have been putting them in other cars.
