Dodge web site shows that you may want to be able to pull 2000lbs with the 3.5l v6 magnum, when it's properly equipped.

I have a 2005 Magnum SXT with that same engine and you may want to don’t have problem puling that kind wheight.just think about not to use your top gear, stay in third if you have the four speed auto like me or stay in fourth if you have the Tiptronic you'll loose fuel efficiency but you'll save yourself tranny problems down the road.

Yes you may want to be able to tow up to 2000 lbs, but if you could like to make sure on your, look in your holders manual under "towing". There should be a break down of the different kinds of engines and what they're rated to pull, with the correct equipment, of course. If none of this is to your satisfaction call your local U Haul dealer and they'll be able to tell you what equipment you'll need. IE: hitch, electrical, ball Etc. and they do installations so it's a no brainer.
